A new retention system?

A new retention system?

January 09, 2017

One of our goals this coming year is to provide you guys with a better helmet retention system and we would greatly appreciate your input if you have a few minutes to comment below!

Right now there are a couple of options out there that are commonly used.

H-Nape or X-Nape style 4-point chin straps. Simple, effective, and not much that can go wrong!

X-Nape Chin Strap

Dial or Worm Dial with 4-point chin straps. Provides additional support and adjustment, but also add's some weight and complexity. This is currently what's in our helmets.

Dial Liner

Cable Closure (Team Wendy BOA) with 4- point chin straps. Offers minute adjustment but it does add complexity and more things to go wrong.

So what do you guys think? What have you tried and what are the pro and cons of them?

What would you like to see on the ATE® Ballistic Helmet?
