Poor customer service and follow through

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE/ FOLLOW THROUGH. I’ve received better customer service with companies in other countries. I don’t want to buy from other countries so we need to fix this.

Not only was my order not delivered correctly, I was then told to mail it back and would be reimbursed for shipping. Not until I said something was a prepaid label offered. Then, instead of working diligently to get me the correct order, it has been another 7 days since they received the helmet I sent back. No one contacted me to let me know it was received or what the next steps would be. I had to contact them again and I still haven’t been given a timeline.

The responses that I received from Clinton Vaughn who is supposed to be a “customer and sales manager” were generic without empathy and not genuine. I got “ I apologize” or “I’m sorry you feel that way”.

By the way- I still don’t have a helmet or timeline and they have been paid. Hmmm.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD

Start by wrapping a measuring tape around the circumference of your head, just above your ears and eyebrows. Where the tape overlaps is your measurement.
No measuring tape? No problem! Use a piece of string to mark the overlap, then measure the string.
Use the size chart to find where your optimal tactical helmet size should be.
Also, don't worry if you choose the wrong size. We offer an easy exchange policy!

M-LOK Tactical Helmet Accessory Rails

Utilizing the MAGPUL M-LOK® SYSTEM on tactical helmet rails have allowed us to reduce the overall profile of the ballistic helmet dramatically. This reduction in helmet profile translates into less of a risk of snagging in confined spaces or on parachute risers. It also gives the user enhanced modularity with accessory options, and fewer adapters to deal with. Look below to learn how the M-LOK mounting system works with our ballistic helmet and some of the most common rail accessories used.

How M-LOK® Mounting Works

Direct Mount Capability

Accessories are mountable directly from the front face of the slot. No access from the rear of the system is needed.

Cammed T-NUT The M-LOK

Direct attachment system features a custom, cammed T-Nut that positions the T-Nut consistently for installation and removal. Simply adjust the gap between the T-Nut and accessory to match the thickness of the mounting surface, align the T-Nuts with the slot, and insert in the desired location. An initial ¼ to ½ turn of the screw for each T-Nut rotates the nut into engagement and then you may tighten normally.

Quick Tip: Pre-Adjust the M-LOK nut to the correct depth thickness before installing onto the helmet mounted rail!

COMMON Helmet Rail ACCESSORIES

1913 Picatinny Rails:

The polymer rails from MAGPUL with 3, 5, 7, and 9 slots will all fit on our ATE GEN2 tactical helmet rails in various configurations. Just about any tactical accessory is designed to work with these Picatinny rails. You can buy these rails directly from MAGPUL. We also have our own Rotatable M-LOK Picatinny Rail for sale!

Lights

Tactical helmet lights are one of the most common additions to our ATE ballistic helmets. They come for just about every application from IR and red light, to super bright. Utilizing a standard 1913 Picatinny rail on the M-LOK system, you can mount any of them. Headset Adapters

Allow users to attach their communications headsets such as Peltor headsets or MSA Sordin headsets directly to the tactical helmet rail itself. A3S SHROUD (ADAPTIVE 3-HOLE SHROUD)

Our A3S shroud is manufactured out of aircraft grade aluminum and weighs less than the majority of shrouds on the market. Each helmet includes bungees to help with night vision goggle wobble, and these conveniently connect to the bottom of our A3S shroud when not in use. This can also be used to lanyard in night vision goggles and other gear. It's designed to be compatible with most standardized NVG mounts from Wilcox to Norotos. It's a tank of a shroud without all the weight!

Shroud Tips And Maintenance

Fitment:

The fitment between the shroud and mount should be secure with minimal wiggle. Mount should not pop off when force is applied unless released. Most new mounts also come with a break-away feature that when engaged, will allow the mount to pop off the shroud when force is applied. Make sure to test your mount and shroud connection.

Pro Tip: If your mount has a tiny bit of wiggle, you can add a small silicone bead or even electrical tape anywhere on the back surface of a shroud or mount to eliminate this.

INITIAL IMPACT PAD SYSTEM

Our Initial Impact pad system is a 2 part system designed not only to protect you from ballistic and blunt impacts but provide you with optimal comfort as well. We include two sizes of different thickness comfort pads with each ballistic helmet we sell, in addition to the Initial Impact base layer. This system is designed to be layered. INITIAL IMPACT Layer

The padding on a helmet is just as important as the shell when it comes to protection performance. Detailed studies have shown that the best performing pads when it comes to ballistic and blunt impact are those that are not too hard, but also not too soft. This is precisely what our impact layer is designed for, utilizing a specially designed closed cell foam, in combination with our comfort layers, we can achieve extremely low Blunt Impact Uni-Axial impact numbers in addition to low back face deformation numbers.

Comfort Pad Layer

Our comfort pads provide additional protection, but just as important, long-term comfort. They are designed using a proprietary open cell memory foam that conforms to your head shape. Each head is different, and that is why we also include two different sized pad sets of our comfort plus pads. This allows you to mix and match these re-positionable pads to achieve your ideal fit. If you have ever worn a standard MICH, ACH, or ECH you know just how uncomfortable they can be. Hot spots, headaches, and fatigue set in, even after short periods of use. Our Comfort Pads eliminate these issues and allow you to find the perfect fit.

WHAT TESTING IS MOST IMPORTANT?

When it comes to ensuring a tactical helmet performs there are no shortcuts. There is more than a simple resistance to penetration test, and they are best performed in a laboratory. Military helmets worn by our troops must pass a strenuous string of lab tests before a contract is even awarded. We use these same tests for the baseline of our helmets, then meet and exceed them. Any tactical ballistic helmet you ever consider purchasing should at the very least have satisfactory RTP (Resistance To Penetration), BTD (commonly referred to as Backface Deformation), V50, and Blunt Impact test data for review upon request from the manufacturer. We like to go a step further and publish this information directly on our website for review!

V50 BALLISTIC TESTING INFORMATION

Is defined as the average of an equal number of highest partial penetration velocities and the lowest complete penetration velocities which occur within a specified velocity spread. In simple terms, you are testing the ballistic limits of the tactical helmet.

Process:

The tactical helmet is mounted to head form with 2024-T3 Alum witness plate.
The helmet is fired upon. Typically starting with a high starting velocity, then decreasing powder charge and velocities to produce complete, partial and no penetrations.
High partial and low complete penetrations are recorded. V50 velocity is then calculated.

BTD/BFD TESTING INFORMATION

Helmet BFD is measured by the non-perforating ballistic impacts from RTP testing. It is defined as the maximum depth in the post-impact clay surface at the predetermined impact location as measured from the original clay surface.

Process

After mounting the helmet on the head form and mounting the head form in the test fixture, the tactical helmet is removed from the head form, and the clay surface is scanned with a laser.
The helmet is then reattached to the head form and the shot taken.
The tactical helmet is again removed from the headform, inspected for penetration and perforation, and the clay is rescanned with the laser to calculate BFD.

BLUNT IMPACT TESTING INFORMATION

Helmet blunt impact testing is designed to measure the protection against realistic blunt impact threats including falls, parachute drops, and motor vehicle crashes.

Process:

Tactical helmet is positioned on a monorail drop tower.
Helmet is dropped on different impact sites. (Crown, Front, Back, Right, Nape, Left Nape, Left Lateral, Right Lateral).
Peak acceleration is measured (G's)
