What's your name and job?

Specialist Hernandez I’m in the Army National Guard.

What does a day in your life look like? (Walk us through your normal day)

My days usually consists of either Driving MATV’s or Being the Base gunner above one. What I love about my job is Hitting the ranges for a variation of weapons and Med Evac procedures, on some days we even go as far as Staging Road side ambushes. To better the communication of our Convoy teams, also how to retain the initiative during an ambush scenario etc.

What makes you get up in the morning?

The fact that I get to spend time with my brothers in arms, being privileged to shoot and use awesome equipment for our amazing country, also to help in community outreach and emergencies.

What lead you to become a soldier, officer, etc?

I decided to become a soldier because of the wonderful opportunities this country has offered to me and my family , most importantly is the love I have for my Country America . The opportunity to be free and stay free and to start a military family tradition for the next generations of our family to come.

What are the most challenging aspects of your profession? 

The most challenging aspects of my profession is with all honesty, separation of family. My wife, who has been extremely supportive of me doing this,is more than enough to keep my drive going in this profession.

What do you love to do in your free time?

During my free time I enjoy going out to Open desert ranges to shoot and conduct drills with my wife who also loves to shoot. Other than that we love to go out on dates to the movies, play video games lol and even travel the world.

What are your thoughts on the HHV ATE Helmet? 

My thoughts on the HHV ATE Ballistic Helmet, best bang for your buck. Moderate weight, perfect snuggle fit and universal fit for other Chin straps and cover applications, as well as Peltor applications with their New M-Lok Rails. Not to mention the smallest of detail was the magnetic chin strap,That little feature alone impressed another soldier with a Team Wendy set up.
